When God calls us, He restores us, inspires us, and then He does one more incredible thing; He allows us to serve as co-laborers with His Son, Jesus. We who were once enemies of all that is Godly now have the wonderful privilege of serving alongside of Him. And the role of the church is to equip its members for the work of the ministry, because in God’s eyes we are all ministers of the Gospel.
Inspired means to have an indwelling Spirit. Jesus told His disciples that when He went back to His Father in heaven, He would send another comforter, the Holy Spirit, to stay with us. Our desire is to be continually “inspired”, which means to be filled with the presence of the Holy Spirit.
To be restored means to be made whole again. Our relationship with God had been shattered by sin, but Jesus came to restore us to a proper, worshipful relationship with our Creator. And then He calls us to lead others back to a restored relationship with God, in the ministry of reconciliation.
